Monsoon touches Odisha: MeT

Bhubaneswar: The much-awaited South-West Monsoon has finally touched Odisha on Friday two days ahead of the scheduled date.

“South-West Monsoon flow has strengthened and advanced into the extreme South Odisha district of Malkangiri. The Monsoon will advance into some more southern parts of the state in the next 24 hours,” said H.R. Biswas, Met Centre Director while speaking to the reporters.

“The much-sought-after Monsoon would cover entire Odisha in the next 3-4 days,” he added.

He also predicted thunderstorm with gusty wind and isolated rainfall in the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Deogarh, Ganjam and Gajapati in the next 24 hours.
