Monsoon to Hit Odisha in Next 3 Days: IMD Predicts 2-4°C Drop in Temperature by June 13
IMD has predicted lightning, thunderstorms and gusty winds for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Khordha, Puri, Boudh and Nayagarh districts in the next 24 hours.
Bhubaneswar: Southwest monsoon is likely to reach Odisha within the next 3 days, the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, has forecast.
According to the IMD, weather conditions will remain favorable for monsoon advance. By June 13, daytime temperatures across the state are expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius, bringing relief from the ongoing heat and humidity.
Hot and humid conditions will continue with no major change in day temperature. By June 13 temperature likely to fall by 2-4°C as monsoon sets in.
Thunderstorm and gusty wind conditions will persist for the next 5 days as Norwester or Kalabaisakhi to continue.

Light to moderate rainfall is also likely in Koraput, Malkangiri and Mayurbhanj districts.
Farmers and people in the affected districts have been advised to take precautions during thunderstorms.
