Bhubaneswar: Mo Cycle, the public transport system launched in November last year resumed its service today with a fleet of 400 cycles. The cycle service which is run on GPS has come to a halt in the aftermath of cyclone Fani.
The service was started in Bhubaneswar with 2000 cycles. While Hexi Bikes, a product of Hero Cycles has supplied 1,000 cycles under the project, Yaana and Yulu have provided 500 cycles each.
The bicycles are equipped with technologies such as the GPS tracking system, cashless transactions through mobile app and smart locks. The cycles have also special features such as adjustable seats and utility baskets.
“Residents of the city used to avail the service from nearly 300 docking stations across the city. However, the entire service was out of track due to network outage. Resumption of the service has brought relief for frequent users,” said an official of Capital Region Urban Transport (Crut). Crut is the coordinator of Mo Cycle.
