Mo Bus claims minor girl Minati Juadi’s life in Bhubaneswar, driver arrested

Driver of the ‘Mo Bus’ which claimed the valuable life of minor girl Minati Juadi’s life in Bhubaneswar earlier today has been arrested by the Nandankanan police.

Bhubaneswar: Driver of the ‘Mo Bus’ which claimed the valuable life of minor girl Minati Juadi’s life in Bhubaneswar earlier today has been arrested by the Nandankanan police.

Based on the complaint filed by the mother of Minati Juadi, Nandankanan police arrested the driver whom it identified as Nrusingha Sethy. Cops also seized the Mo Bus involved in the accident.

Notably, the ‘Mo Bus’ hit the 12-year-old girl from behind while she was going on a bicycle on the Patia-Nandankanan Zoo road. The bus reportedly dragged her for about 100 metres causing her death on the spot.

Soon, acute tension prevailed on the spot as hundreds of locals along with the family members staged a road blockade demanding action against the accused drivers. They also vandalized glasses of several Mo Buses that reached the spot. Several vehicles were stranded for more than two hour following the road blockade.

The locals also demanded adequate compensation for the kin of Minati Juadi, an eight class student of Nandankanan High School.

Police reached the spot after getting information, but the protesters continued their protest until Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) confirmed that the girl died due to the mistake of the driver and assured to provide a compensation of Rs 2 lakh to the family members.
