In a heart-wrenching incident, a minor tourist from Chhattisgarh died reportedly after getting drowned at Puri Blue Flag Beach on Monday.
Puri: In a heart-wrenching incident, a minor tourist from Chhattisgarh died reportedly after getting drowned at Puri Blue Flag Beach on Monday.
One Piyush Kumar of Chhattisgarh had reportedly come on a visit to Puri along with his family members. This afternoon, he was bathing in the sea along with several others. However, a strong wave swept him away into the sea from the beach.
The on-duty lifeguards soon entered the water after hearing Piyush’s family members’ cries and rescued him. Soon, he was taken to the District Headquarters Hospital in a critical condition. However, doctors declared him dead.
Later, police made the arrangement for the postmortem, following which it will be handed over to the family members.
Meanwhile, a pall of gloom descended on the premises of the state government hospital following Piyush’s death.
