In a shameful and shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly gangraped by four youths in Laxmipur area of Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday night.
Koraput: In a shameful and shocking incident, a minor girl was allegedly gangraped by four youths in Laxmipur area of Odisha’s Koraput district on Saturday night.
According to reports, the minor girl had reportedly gone to the Biriguda village under the Odiapentha Grama Panchayat on Saturday night to see a stage program. However, four youths reportedly raped her.
The matter came to light after a case in this regard was registered at the Laxmipur Police station earlier today. Based on this, the Koraput SP gave a direction to Laxmipur Police to initiate a probe into the allegation.
Soon, the Laxmipur Police started an investigation into the gangrape allegation and arrested four accused persons, who are said to be the residents of Nakatiguda village in Tikiri tehsil of Rayagada district.
As of now, four youths have been detained for interrogation, informed Laxmipur Police station IIC Sugyani Sahoo adding that they will be forwarded to the court after a proper investigation.
