Rairakhol: In a shocking and rare incident, a man allegedly killed the father-in-law of his daughter today afternoon in Sambalpur district of Odisha.
The incident took place in Ganjabahal village under Kisinda police station limits. The body was found lying in a pool of blood in front of the village school today afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Murali Dhal (56) of Ganjabahal village in Naktideul Block under Kisinda police station limits.
As per reports, the son of the deceased and the daughter of the accused had married a few years ago after eloping from home. Since then both the samudhis were fighting with each other due to the controversial marriage.
Hence, it has been suspected that the murder has taken place due to past enmity.
After getting information about the crime, Kisinda Police rushed to the crime scene and initiated action. Police seized the body and initiated investigation while the scientific team gathered evidence.
The accused (father of the girl) has been detained by Kisinda Police. Further investigation of the case is underway.
