Man arrested for Rs 12,02,000 Investment Scam in Odisha

The arrested person has been identified as Umashankar Dixit, a resident of Kaupur in Bhadrak district.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Crime Branch has reportedly arrested a man for cheating a resident of Bhubaneswar with the false impression of SEBI registered Online Trading Company “AK Capital Ltd.”

The arrested person has been identified as Umashankar Dixit, a resident of Kaupur in Bhadrak district. He is the owner of M/s Dixit Enterprisers.

One Dharmendra Prusty of BDA Colony in Chandrasekharpur area of Bhubaneswar had filed complaint alleging that he was cheated by the fraudsters towards investment for getting a higher rate of interest.

Based on the allegations, Bhubaneswar CC & EO PS Case No. 39 dated. 24.02.2025 U/s- 318(2) /318(4)/319(2)/336(3)/340(2)/3(5) BNS 2023 turned to 318(2)/318(4)/319(2)/336(2)/336(3)/338/340(2)/3(5) BNS 2023 was registered.

During the course of investigation, it is found that the complainant has transferred an amount of Rs  5,00,00 from his bank account to the bank account of the accused on 15.01.2025 having account number: 10153079142 having IFSC: IDFB0060781.

From the report of IDFC First Bank, it was found that the accused is the Sole Proprietorship of M/S DIXIT ENTERPRISERS, who has committed the offence of cheating and misappropriation of money.

The IO has also seized the registered SIM card from the possession of the accused which was given at the time of creation of the bank account.

The cyber police also seized the following articles:

  • One Green Color OPPO F27 5G mobile of Model CPH2637 bearing IMEI No. (Slot 1) 868261079316195 IMEI No (Slot 2) 868261079316187, and with SIM 1 No. 9337611764(JIO), ICCID NO- 89918660400393576624 SIM No2. 7064820253 (AIRTEL) ICCID NO.8991000922906859126U.
  • One IDFC FIRST Bank Chequebook in the name of Dixit Enterprisers having Account No.10153079142 / IFSC-IDFB0060781.
  • One IDFC First Bank Rupay ATM/Debit Card of Umashankar Dixit having No.6081160500619052.
