Bhadrak: An 84-year-old man allegedly has been administered the wrong injection by a health worker. The incident took place at Basudevpur Community Health Centre (CHC) on Thursday night.
The patient has been identified as Nagendra Prasad Mohanty.
Reportedly, Nagendra’s son, identified as Subashish Mohanty, had brought him to Basudevpur CHC to inject him with medicine after consulting a doctor.
However, Subashish alleged that a nurse at the CHC injected distilled water to his father for the last five days instead of the prescribed injection. He further added that the nurse had to inject a combination of the prescribed medicine along with distilled water before administering it to the patient.
Unfortunately, she only administered distilled water and had not injected the prescribed medicine due to which Nagendra was in continuous pain and his health condition has not been improving, added Subashish.
On the other hand, the accused nurse denied the allegation by Nagendra’s family and said that she had only loaded the injection and but did not administer it. She also said that another colleague of the nurse had injected the same.
