Low pressure induced heavy rainfall in Odisha from August 13

Bhubaneswar: A cyclonic circulation is active over the Bay of Bengal and Bangladesh. As a result of the cyclonic circulation, heavy rainfall due to low pressure is likely to hit Odisha around August 13.

According to information, a low-pressure area is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal in the coming days. The North west and adjoining western part of the Bay of Bengal are likely to experience the low pressure area. This is likely to bring about a heavy downpour in the state.

The MeT Department has given yellow warning to 14 districts for thunderstorm and lightning. Similarly, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts are likely to experience heavy rainfall.

As many as 21 districts have been given a yellow alert warning for rainfall tomorrow. These districts are likely to experience light to moderate rainfall. The windspeed is likely to remain between 30 to 40 kmph.
