Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is brewing over the Bay of Bengal, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting its formation on October 21, intensifying into a depression by October 23.

Currently, a cyclone is active over the southeast Bay of Bengal, adjacent to the South Andaman Sea. Under its influence, the low-pressure area is expected to move west-northwestwards, gaining strength and potentially turning into a depression, likely to impact Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

As a precautionary measure, fishermen have been advised to return from the sea due to rough conditions.
