Bhubaneswar: Odisha Leader of Opposition (LoP) Naveen Patnaik has expressed deep concern over what he described as the State Government’s continued neglect in undertaking essential expenditure for the welfare and development of the people of Odisha.
“I am sad to say that it is not my remark alone,” Patnaik stated while speaking to the newsmen today. “Many people across our state feel that the Government is not making the necessary expenditure for the development of the people. This is truly unfortunate,” he added.
The former CM highlighted that demands for developmental spending have been raised repeatedly but continue to go unaddressed.
“Time and again, this matter has been brought to their attention. There must be meaningful expenditure for the welfare and progress of our people. Yet, they seem completely neglectful,” he said.
Patnaik emphasised that the impact of this inaction is widespread.
“Everyone is suffering. This situation is not limited to any particular group–it affects all sections of society.”
Drawing an analogy, he added: “It’s like they are playing on empty vessels. And as we all know, empty vessels make the loudest noise. Unfortunately, that seems to be what satisfies them.”
Patnaik concluded by expressing regret over the situation, noting, “I am very sorry to report these facts.”
