Locals call bandh in Attabira of Bargarh

Bargarh: Traffic movement and normal life were disrupted at Attabira in Bargarh district of Odisha due to a 12-hour-bandh called by Atabira durga mandir committee. The bandh has started from 6 am and will remain effective till 6 pm.

Reportedly, the bandh has been called by the durga mandir committee over the law and order violations in the area. They have demanded the arrest of thieves who robbed the temple two months ago in September.

Some unidentified miscreants looted the donation box and gold and silver ornaments from Durga temple at Attabira. Temple priest Dharani Mishra found the main gate opened and the ornaments of the idols missing when he came to perform the rituals of the deities that particular morning.

Following which he immediately informed the temple management officials in this regard. It was suspected that the robbery was pre-planned.
