Balasore: Lakhs of rupees was looted from a bank in Balasore district of Odisha on Monday. The loot took place in the Odisha Gramya Bank situated in the Khaparapada chhaka under Baliapal Police Station limits in the district.
As per reports, yesterday night miscreants looted lakhs of rupees from the bank after breaking into the bank on the upper floor by cutting the iron grill with the help of gas cutter.
Today morning the locals witnessed the window of the bank was broken. Accordingly, they informed about this to the branch manager as well as Baliapal Police.
After getting information, Police reached the spot and initiated investigation.
It is to be noted that earlier 5 years ago also theft took place in this branch of the bank. Then, the miscreants broke the skylight at the back of the bank and stole computers and various furniture.
The residents of the area demanded that the police patrol should be tightened due to the frequent thefts in the area.
