‘King Kansa’ of Bargarh Dhanuyatra takes holy dip at Puri Sea, watch

Hrushikesh Bhoi, who enacted the role of King Kansa did so to get rid of the sin that he had earned by delivering dialogues and acting against Lord Krishna during his enactment of the role.

Puri: Hrushikesh Bhoi, the artist who enacted the role of demon king Kansa in the Dhanuyatra of Bargarh in Odisha took a holy dip at the Sea in Puri on Friday. He did so to get rid of the sin that he had earned by delivering dialogues and acting against Lord Krishna during his enactment of the role.

The 11-day-long famous Dhanu Jatra festival of Bargarh came to an end for this year yesterday following the episode of killing of the demon king by young Lord Krishna.

Some of Pradhan’s associates who played the characters of his ministers also accompanied him during the trip to Puri and took holy dip in the Sea.

Later, Pradhan visited the Shree Jagannath temple seeking forgiveness from the Lord for the sins he had committed while enacting his role.

He also called on Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati to seek his blessings.

The 11-day Dhanu Jatra concluded yesterday with the death of tyrannical King Kansa at the hands of his nephew Lord Krishna.

The grand Dhanu Yatra festival of Bargarh is based on Krishna Leela and Mathura Vijay. The story begins with the tyrannical king of Mathura Kansa ascending the throne and ends with Krishna killing his uncle Kansa.
