Odia athletes winning Gold, Silver and Bronze medal will be given cash incentive of Rs. 3 lakh, Rs. 2 lakh and 1.5 lakh respectively, said Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS.
“This financial incentive for the successful athletes is part of the continuous endeavour of KIIT & KISS to encourage sportspersons and promote sports in Odisha”, Dr. Samanta said, while congratulating all Odia athletes and wishing them success in the mega sports event.
Sprinter Dutee Chand, Srabani Nanda, Amiya Mallick, Purnima Hembram and Jauna Murmu from Odisha are part of the Indian contingent.
This is the third time the Asian Athletics Championships are being held in India, after New Delhi (1989) and Pune (2013). As many as 815 athletes from 45 countries will be participating in various events of the Asian Championship.
