Kerala landslide victim from Odisha, Dr Bishnuprasad Chinnara cremated in Puri Swargadwar

Bhubaneswar: The body of the victim of Kerala landslide from Odisha, Dr Bishnuprasad Chinnara has been cremated in the Swargadwar of Puri. One of his kin brother, named Rajnikanta Chinnara performed the rituals of the last rites.

The ambulance carrying Dr Bishnuprasad Chinnara’s body reached Bhubaneswar, Odisha yesterday evening. His friends, relatives and others witnessed the last glimpse of the doctor.

Dr Bishnu’s body reached the capital city of Odisha at about 7 pm. As the ambulance in which the body was placed reached in front of Utkal University where many people including his friends, relatives, well-wishers and others saw the body for the last time.

Later, his body was taken to High Tech hospital in Bhubaneswar. Once people will finish having last darshan of him there, the deceased was taken to Cuttack Choudwar. From there finally it was taken to Puri for cremation.

Meanwhile, massive rescue operation is still underway in Kerala’s Wayanad district. It is worth mentioning here that three massive landslides struck Wayanad district on Tuesday (July 30) following heavy rain. Mundakkai, Chooralmala, Attamala, and Noolpuzha villages in the district were the worst affected due to the natural disaster. Further search operation is underway.

Reportedly, hundreds of people are still missing, while as many as 1,000 people have been rescued by the Indian army. A massive rescue operation involving 1,200 officials from various defence, police, and fire service personnel, besides local volunteers, is currently on at the four worst-affected landslide areas of Wayanad.
