Kendrapara: Minor Daughter Reveals Murder of Father: Claims Uncle Tied Hands, Forced Poison
The girl has alleged that her maternal uncle killed her father, Baban Sethi, at his in-laws’ house in Manapur Sethisahi under Aul police limits.
Aul: A shocking disclosure by a minor girl has turned a suspected death case into a murder investigation in Kendrapara district, Odisha.
The girl has alleged that her maternal uncle killed her father, Baban Sethi, at his in-laws’ house in Manapur Sethisahi under Aul police limits.
According to the girl’s statement, her maternal uncle tied her father’s hands from behind, forced poison down his throat, and then dragged him to a nearby field where the body was dumped.
Baban Sethi, a resident of Eradang village, had been living with his wife and children at his in-laws’ home in Manapur Sethisahi for the last 2 years.
On the night of 2nd June, his body was recovered some distance away from his in-laws’ house. Initially, it was reported as a “suspicious death” at the in-laws’ residence. Baban’s mother filed a complaint at Aul police station alleging that her son was murdered by his wife’s family.
The case took a turn after the victim’s minor daughter broke down and told police what she witnessed. She claimed her “mamu” – maternal uncle – tied her father’s hands, made him swallow poison, and then dragged him to the field to make it look like a natural death.
Earlier, Baban’s brother-in-law Prashant Sethi and wife Pratima had denied the murder allegations. Police had said action would be taken after the post-mortem report.
