Jharsuguda: 20 imported Persian cats rescued at Brajrajnagar Railway Station while being smuggled to Kolkata!
The RPF of Brajrajnagar suspected that these imported cats were being smuggled in the train with the intention of selling them to a farm in Santragachi of Kolkata.
Jharsuguda: In a rare catch, at least 20 imported Persian cats were rescued from Brajrajnagar Railway Station in Jharsuguda district of Odisha on Monday while they were suspected being smuggled from Mumbai to Kolkata.
As per reports, as many as 20 imported Persian cats were rescued from Brajrajnagar Railway station in Jharsuguda district. The RPF informed that a couple was taking the said 20 Persian cats, big and small, from Mumbai to Kolkata, in the Mumbai-Salimar Express train.
The RPF of Brajrajnagar suspected that these imported cats were being smuggled in the train with the intention of selling them to a farm in Santragachi of Kolkata.
After the Mumbai-Salimar train reached Brajrajnagar station at around 2:30 am in the night yesterday, the RPF located the couple carrying the cats and rescued the cats.
It has been learnt that a man identified as Amin Sayed from Mumbai was transporting the cats. His wife and four-month-old child were also travelling with him in the train. The RPF is investigating the matter.
