Internet services suspended in Bhadrak for another 48 hours, 17 arrested

Bhadrak: Bhadrak District administration today extended the suspension of Internet services in the district for another 48 hours following the communal tension.

Apart from extending the suspension of internet services, the district administration said that the prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which was imposed on September 27 following a communal tension over controversial social media post, will remain in force for an indefinite period.

Meanwhile, as many as 17 people including the prime accused were arrested by the cops and were forwarded to the court. Out of the 15 people, 8 were arrested from Dhamnagar police station area while 9 were held from the Old Bazar police station.
