IMD issues yellow warning for dense fog, severe cold wave condition to continue

The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow warning for dense fog for the next three days. Severe cold wave condition across the state will also continue, it predicted.

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued yellow warning for dense fog for the next three days. Severe cold wave condition across the state will also continue, it predicted.

According to the weather department, the dense fog will continue till 8.30 AM of December 13. Check the day-wise warnings:

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of December 11):

  • Yellow Warning: Dense fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Kalahandi, and Jharsuguda.
  • Cold wave conditions very likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Angul, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khurda, Nabarangapur, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Boudh and Kandhamal.
  • Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
  • Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of December 11 to 8.30 AM of December 12):

  • Yellow Warning: Dense fog is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Koraput, Kalahandi and Jharsuguda.
  • Cold wave conditions likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Angul, and Dhenkanal.
  • Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.
  • Shallow to moderate fog very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Sundargarh, Kandhamal, Jharsuguda, Angul, Dhenkanal, and Sambalpur

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of December 12 to 8.30 AM of December 13):

  • Yellow Warning: Cold wave conditions likely to prevail in isolated pockets over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda and Angul.
  • Dry weather very likely to prevail over the districts of Odisha.

Severe cold wave condition has prevailed at one or two places over the district of Jharsuguda of north interior Odisha, said the IMD adding that there will be no large change in minimum temperature (night temperature) during the next 6-7 days over the districts of the state.
