IMD issues rain alert for seven more days in Odisha, check day-wise warnings

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday issued rain alert for seven more days in different districts of Odisha.

The IMD issued yellow warning saying that thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over different districts of the State.

Day 1 (Valid upto 8.30 AM of July 18):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Balasore.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Day 2 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 18 to 8.30 AM of July 19):

• YELLOW WARNING: Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj,Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Balasore.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at a few places over the districts of Interior Odisha and at one or two places over the districts of Coastal Odisha.

Day 3 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 19 to 8.30 AM of July 20):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Rayagada, Koraput, Kalahandi, Kandhamal and Gajapati.
• Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri and Ganjam.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 4 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 20 to 8.30 AM of July 21):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Koraput.
• Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada and Malkangiri.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 5 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 21 to 8.30 AM of July 22):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain and thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada and Kandhamal.
• Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Sonepur, Boudh, Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri.
• Light to moderate rain or Thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 6 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 22 to 8.30 AM of July 23):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.

Day 7 (Valid from 8.30 AM of July 23 to 8.30 AM of July 24):

• YELLOW WARNING: Heavy Rain very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Odisha.
• Light to moderate rain or thundershower very likely to occur at many places over the districts of Odisha.
