Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) today issued rain alert for as many as five districts of Odisha for the next three hours.
According to the weather department, moderate thunderstorm with gusty wind speed reaching 30- 40 kmph and intense spell are likely to occur over some parts of Jajpur, Gajapati, Balangir, Rayagada and Ganjam within next three hours.
Meanwhile, the Duty Officer of the Meteorological Centre said that people living in low lying area likely to witness water logging following the rainfall and they have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike, movement may be avoided in the water logging area.
