In a major success to bust the illegal sand mining racket in Jaleswar of Odisha as many as 50 dumper trucks have been seized in the incident.
Jaleswar: In a major success to bust the illegal sand mining racket in Jaleswar of Odisha as many as 50 dumper trucks have been seized in the incident.
The illegal sand mining racket was busted by the Jaleswar Tehsildar. The district administration is in action mode to stop illegal sand smuggling. Inspections have been going on at various places on the National Highway No. 60 since late last night. Dumpers carrying more than 50 tons of sand have been seized.
After repeated complaints about illegal sand mining to West Bengal, a special team led by Jaleswar Tehsildar Satyajit Mohanty raided various places on the National Highway and checked the permits of the vehicles. Jaleswar police station personnel along with revenue department officials have joined the crackdown.
