IAS officer Somesh Kumar Upadhyay appointed as Collector & District Magistrate of Bhadrak
Odisha government today appointed IAS officer Somesh Kumar Upadhyay as the Collector and District Magistrate of Bhadrak, informed the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.
Bhubaneswar: Odisha government today appointed IAS officer Somesh Kumar Upadhyay as the Collector and District Magistrate of Bhadrak, informed the General Administration & Public Grievance (GA&PG) Department.
Upadhyay, who is a 2017-batch officer, is currently working as the Director of Textiles & Handloom, Odisha. However, he is appointed as the next collector of consequent upon the retirement of Dilip Routrai, IAS (SCS-2011) from Government service with effect from July 31.
“No. PT1-GAD-SER1-ESTT-0001-2016- 24101/AIS.I, Shri Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, IAS(RR-2017), Director, Textiles & Handloom, Odisha is appointed as Collector & District Magistrate, Bhadrak consequent upon the retirement of Shri Dilip Routrai, IAS (SCS-2011) from Government service w.e.f. 31.07.2026(ΑΝ),” read the notification issued by the GA&PG Department.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 14(1) of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, the State Government do hereby appoint Shri Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, IAS as the District Magistrate in the district of Bhadrak,” it added.
