Heatwave warning issued for four districts of Odisha for today

The Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) here has issued a heatwave warning for four districts of Odisha for today that is Thursday.

Bhubaneswar: The Indian Meteorological Centre (IMD) here has issued a heatwave warning for four districts of Odisha for today that is Thursday. These districts are Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Balasore.

According to MeT, the temperature may further rise by 2-3 degrees at many places in the next 2 days.

the districts of Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jharsuguda, and Sambalpur have received heatwave warning for April 14th. While on April 15th, heat wave warning has been issued for Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Angul. Hot weather conditions will prevail in other districts too.

The temperature will decrease slightly in coastal Odisha districts and adjoining interiors areas on April 16 with the arrival of rainfall. There are chances of thunderstorm activity too

Meanwhile, fourteen places of the state including Baripada, Sambalpur, Boudh, Talcher, Bolangir, Titilagarh, Angul, Bhadrak, Sonepur, Sundargarh, Hirakud, Rourkela and Chandbali recorded temperature of 40 degrees or above. Baripada and Sambalpur recorded 42 degrees Celsius.

The twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded maximum temperature of 39.8 degrees each yesterday.
