Sundargarh: Odisha police on Friday busted a gutka smuggling racket at Rajgangpur in the district and arrested two persons in this connection.
The arrested persons have been identified as Deepak Agrawal, a local business man and his driver.
Based on a tip-off, the Rajgangpur police intercepted a van at Jamapali chhak in the industrial town and found around 9 quintals of gutka in it. It also recovered Rs 5.81 in cash, 10 silver coins and two mobile phones from the accused persons.
The gutka-laden vehicle came from Cuttack-based Jagatpur area, police said.
The State Government had imposed ban on sale and manufacture of gutka on January 1, 2013.
