Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidyalaya scheme : 835 schools to be set up in first phase
Chief Minister Mohan Majhi held a review meeting on the Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Primary School and announced to set up 835 models schools.
Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Majhi held a review meeting at the Lok Seva Bhavan on Monday over the Godabarish Mishra Adarsha Prathamika Vidayalaya Scheme. He also spoke about the creation of 835 Adarsha Schools in Odisha.
These schools will function as feeder schools for the High schools in the state. The Odisha government has sanctioned up to Rs 7 crore for each school.
The schools having over 100 students, availability of land up to 2 acres and classes from Shishu Vatikas to Class 8 will be escalated to become Adarsha Vidyalayas in Odisha.
Keeping in mind the geographical demarcation, the Chief Minister directed these schools to be formed in every Gram Panchayat (GP) Headquarters. Quality Education to be imparted on the socio-economic condition of the nation in these feeder schools.
He also said, “Stress will be laid on the transportation of the students, especially the pupils coming from the remote and distant areas. Thus, arrangements for the free transportation will be done.”
Schools having enough space will be chosen as Adarsha Vidyalayas in Odisha and will be upgraded to High Schools in the future. Beautification of these schools will be done using technology in the coming days and recruitment of teachers will also be done. CM directed the departmental Secretaries and officials over the same.
Transformational changes will be brought about in the foundation along with the leveraging of technology. Similarly, the inputs from key stakeholders like parents, alumni and others will also be taken into consideration.
These schools will be at par with the guidelines in the National Education Policy (2020). The students up to Class 3 will have the foundational literacy and education.
Similarly, importance will also be given to STEM (Science, technology, Engineering and Mathematics) along with vocational training and experiential training to nurture the critical thinking of the students will be taken up.
