Sambalpur: A high-school girl student went missing after jumping into the Mahanadi River in Odisha’s Sambalpur district. The incident occurred at Chaunrpur bridge of Sambalpur.
According to sources, the girl left her house for school today morning. She came to the Chaunrpur bridge and kept her cycle. Locals who were doing morning walk on the spot, spotted her attempting to jump off the bridge. They shouted and ran towards her but all efforts went in vein as before anyone could stop her, the girl jumped off the bridge.
On receiving information, the girl’s family along with police and fire service personnel rushed to the spot and initiated a search operation.
The parents of the girl informed that 12 years back their another daughter drowned to death and hence they are very much worried. A pale of gloom has been spread in the area following the incident.
