Minor girl killed, 3 others turn critical as dumper truck hits bike in Odisha’s Boudh dist

Boudh: In a tragic incident, a girl was killed while three other persons sustained critical injury in a road mishap that took place in Boudh district of Odisha on Saturday. The incident took place near the Raithani bypass chowk on the National Highway number 57 under Boudh Police Station limits.

The deceased girl has been identified as Payal Rajhansh (17) of Marjakud, Boudh. The two injured persons are Arati Jhankar of Tutusingha, Boudh and Sitam Behera.

As per reports, two girls were going from Boudh on a bike while a boy was riding the bike on Saturday. Near Raithani bypass a speeding tipper and dumper truck hit the bike which was coming from the opposite side.

As a result of the accident, the girl was killed on the spot while the two persons sustained critical injury. Also, the dumper truck overturned on the roadside. And the driver of the dumper was trapped under the heavy vehicle.

After getting information, Boudh Police rushed to the spot and sent the two injured persons to Boudh district Head quarter hospital for treatment. Police then also rescued the dumper driver and sent him for treatment. However, as the health condition of the bike borne two injured patients deteriorated they were shifted to the VIMSAR in Burla, Sambalpur district.

Further investigation of the case is underway.
