Ganjam youth hacked to death over dispute in Ganesh idol immersion
A youth was hacked to death over a dispute over the Ganesh Puja idol immersion in Hinjili block of Ganjam district.
Hinjlicut: A minor incident took an ugly turn after a youth was hacked to death over dispute in Ganesh Chaturthi immersion ceremony. The incident has been reported from Gotha village Patapur police station in Ganjam district.
The deceased has been identified as Chandan Bisoyi of P.Jagannathpur village. He was staying at Kankarada village at his uncle’s house.
According to information, Bisoyi had created a scene in front of the Sarpanch’s house, along with some other youths. The two parties had an argument at first. The situation turned ugly after the verbal spat.
Later he was hacked to death with an iron road and was found lying in a pool of blood. The locals rushed him to the Hinjili community health centre (CHC) where doctors declared him dead.
In another incident, a youth named Harekrushna Panigrahi was thrashed by his neighbour after which he died in Dengapadar village of Hinjili block on Friday. Such incidents have sent shockwaves in the area.
