Four masked-men kidnap girl from market while buying rakhi in Odisha, police clueless even after three days
Four masked-men reportedly kidnap a girl from the market Kaptipada of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district while she was purchasing rakhi on Friday evening.
Baripada: Four masked-men reportedly kidnap a girl from the market Kaptipada of Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district while she was purchasing rakhi on Friday evening.
The girl, a resident of Sudsudia village, along with her parents had reportedly gone to the Kaptipada market to buy rakhi and some cosmetic items for her personal use on Friday evening. However, four men who came on two separate bikes kidnapped the girl forcefully before anyone could understand anything.
When the girl’s father and mother attempted to confront them, the accused persons who were wearing facemasks reportedly threatened to kill them if they would follow or inform the police about the kidnap.
Later, the girl’s parents informed about her kidnap to other family members and filed a complaint at the Kaptipada Police station seeking an investigation into the incident.
Meanwhile, her parents alleged that they lodged a complaint of kidnap but the police registered a missing case and is not taking any prompt action to search and trace their daughter.
“We went to the Kaptipada market for a shopping on the eve of the Rakhi Purnima. My daughter came with us to buy some rakhi and her personal items. While we were busy in shopping, four men came in bikes and kidnapped her all of a sudden. When she cried for help, me and my wife protested them, they threatened to kill us. We could not recognize anyone of the kidnappers as they were wearing masks on their faces,” informed the girl’s father.
“We filed a kidnap complaint at Kaptipada Police station by 7.30 PM on Friday as we did not find my daughter even after searching for her at all possible locations. However, the police registered a missing case and gave us the F.I.R copy and are yet to find out her,” he alleged.
