As many as four persons including a hotel manager was arrested on charges of running prostitution racket at hotel in Berhampur City today.
Berhampur: As many as four persons including a hotel manager was arrested on charges of running prostitution racket at hotel in Berhampur City today.
Acting on a tip-off, the Berhampur Town Police under the leadership of SI Sujata Konhor conducted a raid on the hotel and arrested four persons and rescued a female victim from the spot.
Police registered Berhampur Town PS case No 395 Dt. 11.09.2025 U/s 143/3(5) BNS R/w Sec 3(2)(b)/4/5/6/7 of The Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act-1956 against the four persons whom they identified as Akash Bishoyee (24), Chinmaya Patra (22), Ajaya Behera @ Mantu (25), and G. Krushna Patra (31).
Apart from the accused persons, the police also seized the evidentiary/incriminating articles like used and unused condoms, tablets such as viagra, seized.
While steps are being taken for the rehabilitation of the rescued woman, probe by the cops are underway to find out involvement of others in the sex racket.
