Bhubaneswar: Heavy rains aggravated flood-like situation in Odisha as rivers flowing above danger mark disrupted normal life in Odisha’s Bhadrak and Baleshwar districts.
In Bhadrak, about two feet water flowing on the Chandbali area Aradi-Cuttack main road near Bodak after the Baitarani River breached the bank.
With submerging part of National Highway 20 due to overflowing of water, a major impact on road connection is observed between Aradi, Kataka and Jajpur.
As per sources, floodwater has affected about 30 villages.
Meanwhile in Baleshwar, floodwaters from the Budhabalanga river entered several low-lying areas including Manikhamb, Behera Sahi, Daudi Bhanga and Chuna Bhati forcing administration on toes after water flowed in the road and the residential areas.
Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and urging people in vulnerable areas to remain alert.
