Fire engulfs Jharsuguda Railway Station, services disrupted, watch
Train services will remain disrupted until the situation is brought under control and electrical communication is restored.
Jharsuguda: Fire engulfs Jharsuguda Railway Station. A major fire broke out at Jharsuguda railway station at around 11 am today. The fire broke out due to a short circuit in the AC and the entire station was engulfed in smoke.
On receiving information, the fire brigade reached the spot and is busy extinguishing the fire. After the incident, all the passengers were evacuated from the platform of the station premises, while RPF, GRP and Jharsuguda police reached the spot and are controlling the situation.
Due to the fire, the power supply of the entire station has been disrupted. The ticket counter and the railway line, including the station master, DTC chamber, have also been damaged. The extent of the damage is not known yet.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that train services will remain disrupted until the situation is brought under control and electrical communication is restored.
