Bargarh: In a bizarre incident, a teacher was critically injured after he was attacked with a sharp weapon in full public view in Bargarh district of Odisha. This case has been reported in Ghens village under Melchhamunda police limits.
The victim has been identified as Naveen Seth.
As per reports, Seth had apparently come out for some work on Sunday evening and was attacked on the Sohela-Padampur road without any reason by his own brother-in-law after some heated family quarrel, sources said.
Eyewitnesses revealed that after attacking Naveen, the accused sped away on his motorcycle leaving the teacher bleeding profusely on the roadside.
Later locals reached the spot and helped him and sent him to Sohela Community Health Centre (CHC) on an ambulance.
However, he was then referred to Bargarh District Headquarters Hospital on an ambulance as his health condition was critical.
On receiving information, Melchhamunda police rushed to the spot and are looking for people close to the family to gather information on the issue.
Further investigation is underway.
