ED attaches ex-Assistant Executive Engineer Rabindra Nath Pradhan and others’ assets worth Rs 1.83 Crore
The ED investigation revealed that during the relevant period, Rabindra Nath Pradhan and others has illicitly enriched himself and his family members by acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, totalling to the tune of Rs 5.21 Crore.
Bhubaneswar: The Directorate of Enforcement (ED), Bhubaneswar Zonal office attached Khurda ex-Assistant Executive Engineer Rabindra Nath Pradhan and others’ assets worth Rs 1.83 Crore.
According to reports, the ED provisionally attached movable and immovable assets like parcels of land and buildings worth Rs 1.83 Crore belonging to the accused Rabindra Nath Pradhan and others under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002 in connection with a case of Disproportionate Assets (DA) registered by the Vigilance Department, Odisha Police.
The law enforcement and economic intelligence agency initiated investigation on the basis of FIR registered by the Vigilance Department, Odisha under section 13(2) read with Section 13(1)(b) of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 1988 against Rabindra Nath Pradhan, the Ex-Assistant Executive Engineer posted in Khurda district.
The ED investigation revealed that during the relevant period, Rabindra Nath Pradhan and others has illicitly enriched himself and his family members by acquiring assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, totalling to the tune of Rs 5.21 Crore.
Further, ED has taken similar action in various other DA cases as forwarded by Vigilance department of Odisha Police. Recently, ED was successful in attaching assets worth Rs 2.84 Crore of one Bishkeshan Nayak, Ex- Senior environmental Scientist, State Pollution Control Board, Odisha on 24.03.2025. In another such case of Narayan Sahoo, Ex-Deputy Collector, Malkangiri District, Rs 91 Lakh have been attached provisionally ED on 28.03.2025.
Further investigation is under progress.
