Daringbadi: After being denied the party ticket, Congress MLA from G. Udayagiri Jacob Pradhan filed his nomination papers for the Assembly elections as an independent candidate on Tuesday.
According to reports, Pradhan, accompanied by his supporters, submitted his nomination papers at the office of Baliguda Sub-Collector as an independent candidate.
Pradhan took the decision to contest the upcoming election as an independent candidate a day after the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Indian National Congress named Shyamghan Pradhan as its candidate from the G. Udaygiri assembly constituency by replacing the sitting legislator.
