Balasore: A joint team of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and local forest officials today seized hide and horns of spotted deer and arrested two poachers in Ouapada area of Balasore district.
Acting on a tip-off, the joint team, under the leadership of comprising Assistant Conservator of forest (ACF) and Range officer Manoranjan Naik, raided houses at Chakapada and Digitentuli village under Khaira police station limits and seized the horns and hide.
The arrested poachers have been identified as Chintamani Prusty of Digitentuli and Santosh Mohanty to Chakapada. Both of them were booked under sections of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972 and forwarded to the court.
