Bangladeshi minor girl rescue case of Cuttack: king pin couple arrested, victim left her country 3 months back

Cuttack: The couple that had been detained in the Bangladeshi minor girl rescue case of Cuttack in Odisha has been arrested on Monday. It has been learnt that this couple from Koruan area under Cuttack Sadar Police Station limits is one of the king-pins of this flesh trade.

As per the latest update, the victim girl had left Bangladesh, her country three months back.

As per reports, Madhupatna police arrested a woman and her husband in this case. They have been charged under sections 143, 144 and 54 of BNS.

Similarly, the police have registered a case under section 5 of the Immoral Traffic Prevention Act. They have been forwarded to the court.

According to the minor girl, she came to Kolkata from Bangladesh after contacting through Facebook for a job.

Later, after reaching Bhubaneswar, she was sent to Cuttack through a pimp. On 9th November, the minor was roaming in Madhupatna area when the police rescued her and sent her to Vasundhara. Later, it was found that the couple had engaged the minor in illegal activities. However, on the basis of the CWC complaint, the police arrested the couple.

Earlier, the Commissionerate Police recorded the statement of the minor Bangladeshi minor girl following her rescue. The statement of the Bangladeshi minor was recorded in the presence of the police. The minor has given all the information about where she came from, who she was with, before the police. Cuttack DCP Jagmohan Meena said that the Bangladesh Embassy will be contacted. An investigation will be conducted to find out whether there is a racket behind this. A special team has been formed for this.

There have been allegations that the minor girl was brought to Odisha from Bangladesh and forced into prostitution. Based on the victim’s statement, a case has been registered against five pimps at Madhupatna police station.

It has been alleged that the flesh trade brokers use to bring girls by luring them to provide job.

The girls were being cross the border through a narrow road inside the forest. After reaching Kolkata, some more brokers were engaging them in prostitution instead of providing jobs. From there, another broker was bringing them to Bhubaneswar. It has been found that  in Bhubaneswar also they are being used in flesh trade. However, it is expected that more information will come out after the investigation of the entire incident progresses.
