Covid-19 Lock Down: Odisha Govt Appeals Private Educational Institutions To Reduce Fees

Bhubaneswar: Amid the ongoing lock down in the wake of ÇOVID-19 pandemic, the Government of Odisha on Friday advised all private educational institutions from across the state to consider reduction or deferment of school fees.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed all private educational institutions in the state to be sympathetic in the time of financial stress due to month-long shot down to contain the contagious Coronavirus.

“Considering reduction or deferment of school fees from April to June.
In view of the lockdown & associated economic stress for #COVID19, #Odisha Govt advises all private educational institutions to be sympathetic to consider reduction/deferment of school fees from April to June. This will help the parents whose income have been adversely affected, ” the CMO tweeted.

On Thursday, the CM announced the extention of the duration of lockdown till April 30 adding that all schools and other educational institutions will remain closed till June 17 in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier, the Chief Minister had urged the house owners to waive off or defer the rent from the tenants in the State.
