Cop’s son allegedly loots Rs 15 lakh from Axis Bank in Sundergarh

Sundergarh: A youth looted about Rs 15 lakh on gun point from the Axis Bank in Sundergarh of Odisha on Tuesday. The accused fled from the scene following the loot when encountered with Police at Shankara.

The accused has been identified as Jaydev Naik, the son of a Police personnel.

As per reports, the youth looted about Rs 15 lakh from the Axis Bank branch at Sundergarh Town Thana hospital road on gun point today and fled from the scene. When he was fleeing from the scene he also threatened a bike rider showing the gun.

Later, Police faced off the accused at Shankara when he fired two shots while Police reportedly fired four shots in exchange of fire. The accused has been admitted to Sundergarh Headquarter Hospital for treatment.

Police have seized gun and the looted cash from the possession of the accused.

Reportedly, the accused is the son of a Police personnel and he used the gun of his father during the loot.
