College student dies after drowning in Mahanadi River

Cuttack: A student of a private college at CDA Sector-I in Cuttack city died this evening after drowning in the Mahanadi River. The deceased has been identified as Deepesh Pattanayak (22) of Rourkela.

Sources said that Bidesh and three of his friends had gone to Naraj for sightseeing. However, one of his friends accidentally slipped into the river near Naraj Guest House. On seeing him, Bidesh jumped into the river to save him. Unfortunately, he went missing after drowning in the river while his friend managed to reach the river bank by swimming, added the sources.

All his friends launched a frantically search for Bidesh. Later, they informed about the matter to the ODRAF team, which fished out his body from the river.

Meanwhile, the local police is said to have started a probe into the matter.

    The name of that boy is Deepesh Pattanayak not Bidesh Pattanayak. He is one of my senior from school. Please cross check the infos before converting into a news.
