Child loses eye following explosion of toy got in chips packet

Titilagarh: In a rare and shocking incident a child has lost one of his eyes due to an explosion of the toy that he had god inside a chips packet in Balangir district of Odisha on Tuesday. The incident took place in the Shagadghat village under Titilagarh police station limits in the district. A police complaint has been filed in this matter.

The victim boy has been identified as Luv Harpal’s eight-year-old son Ankesh.

As per the police complaint, the boy had bought a packet of chips. Inside the packet, a small toy is also provided. The child played with this small toy and then threw it into the fire. As soon as it came in contact with the fire, it exploded and Ankesh sustained critical burn injury in his face.

He was admitted to the hospital in a state of severe pain. The explosion was so powerful that the doctor said that one of his eyes was damaged.

The parents have approached the Titilagarh police station regarding the incident. They have demanded strict action against the company concerned and compensation. A complaint has been filed in this regard at the police station.
