CEO Nikunj Bihari Dhal visits Sambalpur, reviews polling arrangements of four places

Sambalpur: The Chief Electoral Officer Nikunj Bihari Dhal visited Odisha’s Sambalpur district and reviewed arrangements for upcoming polls of four Lok Sabha constituencies.

According to official reports, discussion over polling arrangement at 28 assembly constituencies of Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundergarh and Dhenkanal districts.

District Magistrates and SPs of all the districts were present in the meeting. During the meeting, the Chief Electoral Officer directed the District Collector and SP to take necessary step for making the 2024 general election free and fair.

Meanwhile, due to rising temperature in the state, the CEO has asked to make necessary arrangement for the convenience of the voters. CEO Nikunj Bihari Dhal has directed the district administration to make laws for the convenience of the voters, keeping the summer season in their mind.

The CEO also asked the polling personnel and the mobile party to be more considerate about the upcoming election. Meanwhile, vehicles will be arranged for disabled voters and older citizens from their homes to the polling stations.

Some voters can take advantage of postal ballot. The DMs are asked to ensure that the code of conduct is not violated.

Furthermore, the CEO said that webcasting will be done in 60 to 70 booths. Booth hijacking will be closely monitored in order to have a free and fair election. It is worth mentioning here that ahead of the General election 2024, the Chief Electoral Officer is visiting various parliamentary constituencies of the state to review the election preparations.
