Cameraman Manas Swain murder case: Register notebook of Dayal Ashram reveals these shocking details

Bhubaneswar: The register notebook of Dayal Ashram, which is run by Sharmishta Rout, the prime accused in the sessional murder case of cameraman Manas Swain, has reportedly revealed some shocking details.

The State Crime Branch team, which is currently investigating the case, visited the Dayal Ashram and found names of several persons written on the register notebook of the shelter home.

Names like Dilip Khatei, Sharmishta Rout, Jhuna Bhoi, Pramod Nayak, Anshuman Padhi and Sujata Panigrahi were found on the register notebook.

The investigation team also seized a diary from the Dayal Ashram that allegedly has names of several important persons.

On the other hand, a team of the Crime Branch is investigation the matter in Bhadrak while another team has gone outside the State. Crime Branch DSP Kalpana Sahu discussed about the matter with the concerned officials including the Chandabali SDPO. They also reportedly interrogated two eyewitnesses to get some lead in the case.

The whereabouts of Sharmishta Rout is yet to be known as she allegedly continues to change her address.

Notably, Manas Swain was working as the cameraman of the web-channel owned by Sarmistha. His family members filed a missing report with Chandbali police on February 14 following which the cops registered a case and started an investigation into the matter.

Prior to that on February 6, Swain travelled to Palaspur village of Bhadrak for video-recording of a marriage function and was enroute to Bhubaneswar the next morning when three people abducted him, said police. The deceased was in possession of some controversial videos and photos in a chip that Sarmishtha wanted him to hand over to her.

The state crime branch took over the investigation of the sensational murder case on Wednesday. Till date, a total of six persons including former I&PR Director Niranjan Sethi and Sharmishtha’s brother Parmeshwar Raut have been arrested for their involvement in the case.
