Bhubaneswar: The State Election Commission (SEC) announced the dates for the Odisha panchayat samiti by elections. The elections shall be conduct for vacant chairman and vice-chairman posts, read the notice by the SEC.
The by-poll for the vacant posts will be held on 22 August. The elections shall be conducted in six places across various districts.
Here is the detailed schedule:
- Issue of formal notification by Election Officer- August 14
- Issue of nomination forms- August 22, between 10 am to 11 am
- Scrutiny of nomination papers- August 22, between 11 am to 11:30 am
- Withdrawal of candidature- August 22, before 12 noon
- Voting if required- August 22, between 12:30 pm to 2 pm
- Counting of votes and declaration of results: August 22
- Declaration of result- August 23
- Submission of result to State Election Commission- August 23
