Both Boys’ and Girls’ Rugby teams of KISS to represent India
School and college teams from various Asian countries will participate in this championship.
Bhubaneswar: Both the boys and girls rugby teams of KISS will represent India in the Asia School Rugby Sevens Championship to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from January 8 to 12.
School and college teams from various Asian countries will participate in this championship. Apart from host Thailand, countries like Laos, Malaysia, Pakistan, Chinese Taipei are participating in this championship organized by the Thai Rugby Union.
The 14-member KISS India boys team is captained by Vidyadhar Majhi, while the coach is Yashwant Kumara and the manager is Kandan Murmu.
Similarly, the 14-member KISS India girls team is captained by Mamali Singh, while the coach is Hirano Mikinori and the manager is Nirmaly Raut. The team will leave for Thailand on the 7th January tomorrow.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS, expressed his happiness and congratulated both the teams on this success. He also wished both the teams success in the championship.
Members of the Indian Rugby Football Union and Odisha Rugby Football Association also congratulated both the teams and wished them well for the championship.
On this occasion, Odisha Rugby Football Association Vice President Upendra Mohanty, KIT Sports and Yoga School Director General Dr. Gaganendu Dash were prominently present.
