BJD suspends Corporator Amaresh Jena following arrest in minor girl sexual assault case
BMC Corporator Amaresh Jena was arrested today by the Commissionerate Police from Balasore's Nilagiri area.
Bhubaneswar: Following the arrest of BMC Corporator Amaresh Jena, he was suspended from the membership of Biju Janta Dal (BJD). The Commissionerate Police arrested Corporator Amaresh Jena from Balasore from the Nilagiri area.
According to information, a complaint was filed against Corporator Amaresh Jena alias Bayan for sexually assaulting a minor on the pretext of marriage. The FIR also mentioned that he had got the girl abort the child. In this regard, Laxmi Sagar Police Station has registered a case under Section 64(2)(M), 89, 296, 351(2) of the BNS and Section 6 of the POCSO Act-2012 in Case No. 394.
Earlier, five associates of Corporator Amaresh Jena (Baiyan) were arrested for helping him break the jail in Laxmisagar police station. Police have taken strict action against the 5 accused for their helping Amaresh Jena in escaping from the prison.
The accused have been identified as Vivek Kumar Swain, Vikram Mohanty, Devendra Kumar Bhola, Suman Kumar Sahu and Rajiv Champati. Various sections of the BNS and POCSO sections have also been registered against them.
