Bhubaneswar: No obscene dance in Khandagiri Jatra, BMC warns organisers, watch
Strict action will be taken if rules are violated, BMC said.
Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Committee has issued strict warning in the matter of obscene dance during the upcoming Khandagiri Jatra in Bhubaneswar of Odisha.
As per reports, the BMC warned the organisers of the Khandagiri Instructions to conduct the Yatra within the historical tradition and dignity.
Strict action will be taken if rules are violated, BMC said.
All the Yatra committees have been asked to stage their plays as per the guidelines, said BMC Commissioner Rajesh Prabhakar Patil.
It is to be noted that an awkward situation started a few days earlier in Bhadrak. When a Jatra performance was going on, a woman threw a shoe. The jatra was going on during the Kali Puja. The opera was stopped for some time. However, after much effort by the Yatra organizing committee members, the performance was re-started.
